Evapotranspiration Seasonality over Tropical Ecosystems in Mato Grosso, Brazil

چکیده
Brazilian tropical ecosystems in the state of Mato Grosso have experienced significant land use and cover changes during past few decades due to deforestation wildfire. These can directly affect mass energy exchange near surface and, consequently, evapotranspiration (ET). Characterization seasonal patterns ET help understanding how these function with a changing climate. The goal this study was characterize temporal (seasonal-to-decadal) spatial over using remotely sensed products. Ecosystems areas limited no flux towers be performed remote sensing products such as NASA’s MOD16A2 (MOD16 ET). As accuracy product is unknown, secondary objective evaluate ability MOD16 (ETMODIS) appropriately represent Grosso, Brazil. Actual measured (ETMeasured) eight towers, three Amazon, Cerrado, two Pantanal Grosso. In general, ETMODIS all sites had difference from ETMeasured analyzed periods, moderate strong correlation ETMeasured. variation some similarity climatology higher mid southern parts (Cerrado Pantanal) wet period compared dry period. Amazon patterns, lower season season, minimal insignificant seasons. decreased first second decades, but increased Cerrado same This highlights importance deepening climate change.

Saint Louis Encephalitis Virus in Mato Grosso, Central-western Brazil
The dengue virus (DENV), which is frequently involved in large epidemics, and the yellow fever virus (YFV), which is responsible for sporadic sylvatic outbreaks, are considered the most important flaviviruses circulating in Brazil. Because of that, laboratorial diagnosis of acute undifferentiated febrile illness during epidemic periods is frequently directed towards these viruses, which may eve...
متن کاملDengue Outbreak in Mato Grosso State, Midwestern Brazil
Dengue virus (DENV) is the most frequent arbovirus worldwide. In this study, we report a large outbreak in Mato Grosso State (MT). Serum samples from 604 patients with acute febrile illness for less than five days were inoculated in C6/36 cells, then infected cells were subjected to an indirect immunofluorescence test for DENV serotypes and yellow fever virus. Serum samples were submitted to a ...
متن کاملThe Paradox of Water Abundance in Mato Grosso, Brazil
While much effort has gone into studying the causes and consequences of water scarcity, the concept of water abundance has received considerably less attention in academic literature. Here, we aim to address this gap by providing a case study on the perceptions and political implications of water abundance in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso. Combining a political ecology perspective on conte...
متن کاملMolecular Epidemiology of Laguna Negra Virus, Mato Grosso State, Brazil
We associated Laguna Negra virus with hantavirus pulmonary syndrome in Mato Grosso State, Brazil, and a previously unidentified potential host, the Calomys callidus rodent. Genetic testing revealed homologous sequencing in specimens from 20 humans and 8 mice. Further epidemiologic studies may lead to control of HPS in Mato Grosso State.

Studies on medical geography about leprosy discuss the role of the detailed report of the occupation of the territories as a basis of the permanence of leprosy focus. In Brazil, the states that present the highest rates of detection historically are in the Amazon region, which shows an uneven regional evolution of the disease. This paper analyzes the evolution of leprosy contextualizing the mig...
